Tattoo Ideas - angelina Jolei Tattoo in Back

For some people the reason they refrain from getting a tattoo in the first place is because they feel they will regret their tattoo decision or they just simple can't comprehend the idea of having inked embedded in their skin for the rest of your life. However, that is just a chance you are going to have to take when you get a tattoo.

Tattoo Ideas - angelina Jolei Tattoo in BackBut don't fret you are not a lone in the tattoo regret department. It has been said that more woman than men regret their tattoo decisions, mainly because woman are judged more often than men when it comes to tattoos. However, if you do regret one of your tattoo designs, you are not alone at all. The incredible Angelina Jolie has several tattoos that she has regretted and gotten covered up and lasered off.

Here's a pretty lengthy list of the tattoos that Angelina has regretted and gotten covered up.

1. A dragon on her left arm (She has been lasering it for some months now but it can still be faintly seen).

2. "Billy Bob" tattoo, the name of her former husband Billy Bob Thornton, on her left arm, which she attended several laser sessions to get it removed. However you can still faintly see it.

3. A Chinese character tattooed for courage now covered by the Tennessee Williams quote.

4. A Chinese character tattooed that is believed to mean death is now covered by the prayer for eldest son Maddox.

5. A tattoo both Thornton and Jolie shared. It was on her right forearm, now covered by the "strength of will" tattoo.

6. A dragon she got in Amsterdam while Angelina was drunk, now covered by the Latin cross.

7. A window on her lower back. While she was on Inside the Actors Studio, she explained that she covered this tattoo, because, while she used to spend all of her time looking out through windows wishing to be outside, she now lives there all of the time.

Tattoo and Body Piercing

Tattoo and Body PiercingYou've passed by them on the streets or at the mall and you have looked in curiosity and possibly turned away in disgust. You know what I mean--they are the teens of today--what used to be the fringe, the counterculture, who have now become more mainstream, the ones with the nose rings and pierced tongues. You silently wonder "how can they eat like that or blow their noses?" And then your 16-year-old daughter returns from school one day talking about her friend Mallory's new navel ring. She thinks it's cool and wants one. You are dead-set against the idea, but how do you handle this situation?Tattoo and Body Piercing

Some teens respond positively to "Not as long as your under my roof" and they wait until they move out or go to college. Other teens may say "Well then I'll just leave," and will move out. According to Woodinville, Washington, therapist, Elaine Pool, "You know your teen best." You should know what kind of limits work and what kind of limits don't. If your teen is one with whom you can reason, ask her to help you research the topic, and if after the research it still seems like a good idea, then you can negotiate.

Research the topic together and get all the facts, including sitting in on one someone else's procedure so you and your teen get a realistic picture of what happens. What exactly is body piercing? Body piercing is the creating of a hole, with a needle, in a part of the skin in order to wear a ring or stud through that part. This part of the skin may be the navel, eyebrow, nostril, septum, ear, nipple, tongue, etc. The holes created for body piercing are permanent, even if after the first year, the person never wears the body jewelry again.Tattoo and Body Piercing

In addition to the permanency, piercings are associated with dangerous health risks. Body piercings can become painfully infected. And, according to Dr. Absar H. Haaris, of St. Agnes Hospital in Philadelphia, getting a body piercing "increases one's risk for Hepatitis B and/or C" and HIV/AIDS. The increased risk is so great that the American Red Cross and regional blood banks have started to refuse blood donations from people with body piercings.

3 Tips to Consider Before You Do Anything

If you are contemplating getting a new piercing or if this is your first time, there are a few things that you should consider. What follows is not meant to scare you. They are merely steps that you should take to make sure you do not have a bad experience. And yes, even someone who has had piercings before can have a bad experience. The recent revival of piercing has everyone and their brother either getting one or experimenting with giving them. That is why you should be aware of a few points before you make your final decision. Do not be the guinea pig for your brother who has aspirations of opening his own piercing and tattoo shop. If he wants to practice, tell him to practice on himself.Tattoo and Body Piercing

1. You Get What You Pay For

The art of piercing is not merely jabbing an earring or a tongue ring through and presto, you are done. If the person who is doing the piercing does not know what they are doing, you may end up with a hole somewhere you do not want it. Or worse yet, matching holes that do not match. The spot has to be marked and checked to make sure that it is centered, especially on the ears. You do not want to look lop-sided. Oh, sure it is not the earrings, it is your ears. We have all heard that one before. Find a reputable piercing business. Word of mouth is always a good way to find out who has had problems and who has not.

2. Sterilized--It's Good to Be Clean

Another step involved that can determine whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is the sterilization process. You DO NOT want to be pierced with anything that has not been properly sterilized. The risk of infection is definitely not worth taking a chance on. Not only is it painful, but you could end up in the hospital if the infection gets too bad. That is why you have to choose carefully when you make the final decision to get pierced. You definitely are not ready to lose an ear or an eye or heaven forbid; your tongue. We have all heard the horror stories of someone losing the bottom half of their ear due to infection. Well, if you would like to keep all the parts you were born with, make absolutely sure that the person who pierces you has sterilized and re-sterilized that needle.

3. Which Spot to Pierce First?

Ok. You have made sure the piercing person is qualified. You have determined that this is a legitimate set-up, and that you are not going to get gangrene in a week, so you have to decide what part of your body you are having pierced. This is easy for some people. They already have an idea of what they want pierced. However, others may be wavering between a couple of spots or several. Since the hole will close up if it is not kept open by an earring or whatever type of body jewelry you choose, it is not going to be something that can never be reversed. If this is your first piercing you may want to start small and work your way up to something more radical. If however, you already have plenty of piercings, you may be in a dilemma when it comes to finding a new spot. This is basically a personal preference, so wherever you choose is all right with me.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first of a trilogy based on the Swedish novels of Stieg Larsson. As I have not read the novels, I cannot comment on their transition to the big-screen. This film, however, is excellent as a stand-alone and is very well executed in nearly every aspect. I very much look forward to the rest of the trilogy which has already been filmed and released.

The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe story, set in Sweden, follows Mikael (Michael Nyqvist), a journalist facing prison after being set-up, and Lisbeth (Noomi Rapace), a hacker on probation with a mysterious and troubled past. Their paths cross in the quest to solve a 15 year old cold-case disappearance. During which they encounter many twists, cover-ups, and close calls. The films structure and proceedings remind me of David Fincher's Zodiac (2007), in that it is meticulously paced and focused more on the investigators, rather than the villain. So much so, that it is impossible for anyone unfamiliar with the novel to determine who the villain is prior to it being revealed. The twist/surprise is effective due to a lack of heavily foreshadowing rather than misdirection and deception. The audience discovers the villain simultaneously with the on-screen characters.

Originally (& rightfully) entitled Män som hatar kvinnor [Men Who Hate Women], there are some heinous actions depicted against women, especially Lisbeth. Including two (very) intense and disturbing rape scenes. Although they are not entirely gratuitous, they have a lasting, repulsive impact on the viewer. Credit goes to the director, and actors, for not pulling any punches and portraying the sadistic acts forcefully and realistically. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Swedish actress Noomi Rapace's portrayal of Lisbeth is astonishing and stands-outs in a film full of strong performances. Played with an edge, Lisbeth is often teetering on the border of sanity and despondency. While her problematic past is only hinted at, her incertitude towards the law and men is obvious and understandable. The most striking feature of Lisbeth is her eyes, intensely full of enmity and dejection. Mikael on the other hand is the polar opposite of Lisbeth, full of sympathy and righteousness.

Mikael and Lisbeth share a complicated bond and their relationship is handled deftly. Mikael falls in love almost instantaneously, Lisbeth however is reluctant. Understandable given her previous history with men. Their romantic link is filled with subtleties and dispassion, avoiding most clichés and expectations.

The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, along with Let the Right One In, is another film coming out of Sweden to achieve world-wide acclaim in recent years. Due to their success, I expect a sudden rise in Swedish cinema releases to follow. If the quality of the films stays consistent, Sweden will emerge as a foreign cinematic powerhouse. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

From the interpersonal relationships which lead to the character development, the developing themes, the writing style, the back stories, to the description of the locations the reader is left quite simply wondering what is coming next. Will there be the ironic twist which seems to be the hallmark of all great novels? I am left guessing most likely so, but in all honesty have no idea since as stated before I am only part way through the novel.

I hope you enjoy your weekend; because I know I will enjoy mine - reading The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo. And while I read I will keep wondering, who will be the lead role in the Girl Dragon Tattoo Movie?

Once upon an infernal time,
Existed a circus created by hell’s own grime
The circus bred freaks that thrived on pain,
Thereby giving it, its sordid name.

In the carnival of pain, lived a freak,
Whose daily pain made the guillotine seem meek.
Diamond fangs, the condemned called him,
The Grand Meister, of the Carnival of eternal Sin
And the pain he felt, he transferred to ink,
With which he marked bodies till raw and pink.

This blasphemy provoked higher beings,
Till even God deferred; and the Devil Intervened.
Black, angry and searing pains he felt,
Of kinds which make hardest stones melt,

Voices of those past inked, echoed painfully
Right through Diamond Fang’s head; throbbing violently.
The creature thought, for sure he’ll explode,
For minions of hell destroyed his abode.
Scorched his eyes, and flayed his body
Until his tainted soul was ripped all bloody.

Thus when he was about to break,
The visions cleared and a voice thus spake,
From its high throne of gory splendor,
Said the Devil with glistening evil ardor,

“You’ve breached the codes of heaven and hell,
For this torrid sin, repent you shall.
66 irredeemable sinners you must find,
And mark them with the ink of thine,
Then only will your soul mend,
And back to your Carnival, you may tend.

Break me this chain of human sacrifice,
And your soul can never survive
So go forth my insolent son,
your quest of 66 sinners has now begun".

Japanese Demon

The hannya mask is the vengeful and jealous woman turned demon. Pointed horns, metallic eyes and teeth, and the expression all exhibit the full wrath, anger and resentment of her nature. The origins of hannya masks may have come from early snake masks but most likely the image was taken from painted hand scrolls of stories and legends of the Muromachi period. In fact one of the oldest hannya masks is dated 1558. Of course the most prominent feature is the horns. Even to this day a hand gesture of two index fingers sticking up from a man's forehead is an indication that his wife is mad at him or jealous.
There are many variations of hannya masks. The coloring of the face also signifies the degree of passion in the demon's anger. For example, a more reddish color indicates strong resentment and anger and is used in such plays as Dodoji and Kurozuka, whereas a paler color would be more appropriate for Aoi-no-ue. Dodoji is the story of unrequited love between a woman and a priest of Dodoji (temple). She turns into a demonic serpent who wraps her body around the temple bell consuming it and the priest in the process.
